This source is a part of Upton Sinclair's book The Jungle which is a book from the 1920's that describes how disgusting and awful the meat packing industry is. It showed how unsanity and unhealthy it was to eat canned meat in the 1920's because the workers there did not work hard on their jobs and many people got diseases because of the meat. Eventually Progressives fought hard for rights to try to create laws to make it healthier and more sanitary for the workers and people that ate the meat. Many people fought against this by boycotting agianst eating meat and how vegitarins really started. The Jungle was really the first thing that showed the public how the meat was made and what was really in it. Eventually, laws were created to make it healthier and and more sanitary and afterwards many people went back to eating meat as soon as the law was created for it.

APUSH text book, www.studyblue.com
The text book contains a series of events in history that leads up to, describes and follows the events after World War I. It explains why countries felt the way they did and the reasoning behind the measures they took such as why in the Treaty of Versailles, leaders of countries like England, France and Japan disagreed with Woodrow Wilson and wanted to severely cripple the country of Germany as punishment for their aggression.
Studyblue allows students to verify their information and remind them of any key points they might have missed while creating flash cards so that they can study and share the correct information that they can use to prepare for tests, quizzes or simply to know their facts before they get to class. Most of the information is accurate, and those that are not are easy to sort through as long as the student has at least a basic knowledge of the information they are planning to study, or has another resource like a test book.

http://history.howstuffworks.com/world-war-i/economic-and-social-aspects-of-world-war-i.htm
This article contains useful information on the Economic and Political aspects of WW1, which included the rise of women in the labor force, economic hardships and endurance, and the first black infantry unit in the field. Women were forced to work because of the sheer amount of men drafted and conscripted into the war. The "women were the breadwinners" of the time. The economic hardships faced involved the lack of funding needed to maintain a victorious war against the Axis powers. Most of the money came out of our reserves or federal banks. The first black infantry unit, known as # 369, marked a huge stepping stone or African Americans as people of the United States.
This article is significant because it highlights the key ideas of WW1 "at home" without having useless or irrelevant information to waste time and effort. This could be used to study for a test, or help prepare for an essay, as critical thinking will allow us to expand on information of key ideas given to us and create a full, AP style essay, paragraph, or other such form of writing.
