http://www.historyplace.com/unitedstates/revolution/teaparty.htm
A particular account of a man who was involved in the act known as the Boston Tea Party. He was dressed as an Indian, where he raided large quantities of shipped tea by hacking and slashing each crate of tea and disposing of it in the harbor. He describes the calm meeting with British armed forces, and was sent home without any indication of an arrest. He saw the smuggling of tea by other families, and even the captain was seen of doing such. The remaining tea that began to float on the surface of the sea was destroyed by British officials to ensure no use could come of them.
This represents significance because it describes the Tea Party in significant detail, and even dispels a few assumptions made. None of the tea- dumpers were arrested, just simply sent home. It also marks the turning point for Britain to become punishing and cruel, which leads to rebellion and eventually the Revolutionary War. This is significant simply because it was a major driving factor to the Revolutionary War.
