This was a speech stated by president George W. Bush on September 20, 2001 in Washington D.C. to address the nation of the events of the September 11 terrorist attacks. This speech helped calm the American people down and also helped them unite as one. This was a time in which people did not care about their differences, they were just concerned about staying safe. This is what caused Bush to invest more money into military defense and add more people to the army. This was the beginning of a new war for the American people that would last about 10 years.

George W. Bush Jr. gave a heartfelt speech on Sept. 14th, 2001, explaining the WTC attacks and coaxing the loss of loved ones. Referring much to biblical and Christian references, Bush comforts the nation with a promise of rebirth and atonement and emphasizes how this tragedy brought the United States together as a whole, regardless of states or laws passed, but unified as one to remember and remind ourselves of those who have fallen. He ends with one of the most famous quotes ever spoken since the dawning of this country, "God bless America".
This speech is very significant in pointing out the flaws in security infrastructure at the time and the vulnerability of the American people. The Anti-Terrorism act was passed in an effort to justify any actions to find those responsible. Even though the morale of the American people was weakened, they were able to recover and memorialize those lost. Bush allowed the Guantanamo Bay Naval Base as a detention camp for detainment of anyone suspected of working with the طالبان or القاعدة. Because "Gitmo" lacks diplomatic relations, many of the detainees rights' were alienated.
